About the teacher
My name is Christy Reintsma and I am very excited to introduce myself as your child's potential preschool instructor! I was born and raised in Billings. I have been blessed with a wonderful family, a loving husband, and a sweet pooch named Daisy. My hobbies include crafting, running, biking, hiking, fishing, playing the violin, and enjoying the outdoors.
I obtained my teaching degree, as well as my special education degree from MSU-Billings in 2005. I was lucky enough to obtain a position teaching 3rd graders following graduation. I have 7 years of teaching experience, the last one being a teacher in a Montessori preschool, working with 3 and 4 year olds. I love working with preschool-aged children, as their enthusiasm for learning cannot be beat! It is a very rewarding experience, as well as a privelege to get to serve as a young person's teacher/guide. It is truly my passion in life.
I decided to open my own preschool because I love teaching, but do not want to do it in a daycare environment, and want to share what my home has to offer with others.
Your child will get to watch ducks build nests and hatch eggs( baby mallards are adorable!), observe squirrels collecting food for winter and being playful with one another up in the trees, bunnies feeding and hopping about the yard, and hawks searching for prey. Students will also get to partake in planting flowers and plants in the spring and researching trees in the area every month. Another favorite activity will be feeding the ducks, as the yard is in a park-like setting and allows us to do so.
When your child attends my school, their social and academic development, as well as their safety, are my focus, along with making sure I am providing a high-quality curriculum that meets the needs of all learners. My teacher to student ratio will remain low (8 to 1) so that your child will recieve the one-on-one attention that they need and deserve at that age. I hold a current CPR/First Aid certification for children and infants, and have also been licensed as an EMT and served on the ambulance crew in Billings.
